This and That

Tolkien reading from The Hobbit.

Two books I'd like to read.

A new Lisbeth Salander book by David Lagercrantz continues Stieg Larsson's series!  I'm in for this one.  The Girl in the Spider's Web.

  1. How interesting. I didn't know a knew Lisbeth book was coming out. Whether we'll like her if another author has control remains to be seen but I'll keep my eyes open.

    1. I was surprised, too, but I'm eager to see what I think of the book. :)

  2. I don't know about The Girl in the Spider's Web. I read the first book in the series and loved it, but then lost interest before I could start the second book. Maybe someday.

The other two books you mention, especially The Hobbit, The Wardrobe, and a Great War, really appeals to me though. It's the World War thing. I just can't resist.

    1. I'm interested in both TH, TW, and a GW and the one about The Inklings. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis are so well-known, but I am not familiar with Owen Barfield or Charles Williams. I read a little about that group years ago, but it was in a biography of Tolkien; now I want to know more about the group itself.

  3. I'm reading the book about the Inklings and loving it. Such interesting lives these authors lived.

    1. I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying the Inklings book! It has been years since I read the Tolkien biography or about C. S. Lewis, but was fascinated by their little literary group. Such intelligent and imaginative people!
