Some books are as you mention, a revisit to a past version of yourself. I still love the Anne books and The Secret Garden and can feel much of the same pleasure that I felt as a child--even "seeing" myself reading them with all the fervent attention of those first reads.jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-49629806428609965792015-03-30T13:42:42.378-05:002015-03-30T13:42:42.378-05:00So, so true. And when I reread, I'm not just revisiting the book, I'm also revisiting past versions of myself. Which is a lovely reminder of how things have changed (and stayed the same).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-30644011923049635142015-03-30T10:34:34.159-05:002015-03-30T10:34:34.159-05:00:) Yes, the world of a young child is brighter, n...:) Yes, the world of a young child is brighter, newer, more. I get so caught up in rushing around, and then have to remind myself to slow down--when I do, I begin to see more of what my daughter sees. And it really does make a different when you open your eyes and really look around you as opposed to always being focused on what comes next.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-26656635844642296152015-03-30T10:22:40.650-05:002015-03-30T10:22:40.650-05:00It's so nice to have a fine thought come flyin...It's so nice to have a fine thought come flying in from out of the blue.
