That's saying something since I'm normally a scifi/fantasy/speculative fiction reader.
Rebecca @ The Portsmouth Review
Follow me on Bloglovin'Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17249423601362144632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-15214008418684242912016-09-26T05:38:59.291-05:002016-09-26T05:38:59.291-05:00The Lost Girls was a good character-driven psychol...The Lost Girls was a good character-driven psychological novel. I've enjoyed the Cara Black books I've read, but I know what you mean about the right book/wrong time--guess we've all had that experience. And we don't all love the same books for whatever the reason! :)jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-24306838520439381532016-09-25T16:08:39.208-05:002016-09-25T16:08:39.208-05:00Great review of The Lost Girls! I tried one of the Cara Black books years ago but I didn't like it so much but it could have been a case of right book/wrong time. Duh, I've made the correction to the number of pages--3328 pages would have been more than I could have handled!jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-46544320418468185842016-09-23T11:11:58.485-05:002016-09-23T11:11:58.485-05:00It is always nice to see a debut novel that promis...It is always nice to see a debut novel that promises more to come. :)jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-30844399442919476122016-09-23T10:27:41.408-05:002016-09-23T10:27:41.408-05:00The first book sounds fascinating. It's like being at the movie theater with people who can't help themselves and call out, "Don't go in there!" or "Look out behind you!" Books that feature the death of a child are hard for me to read, however. You know what a fan I am of Aimee Leduc, so knowing there is a prequel may bug me until I buy it. P.S. 3328 pages is very long. ;-))Teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06666609213171939599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-71739072147052266422016-09-23T09:28:50.365-05:002016-09-23T09:28:50.365-05:00The Lost Girls sounds good to me. It's best if their voices are ambiguous and have us guess the truth till the end. Love it! Glad you liked both the prose and story. Will have to check it out. :) Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03967837585961009598noreply@blogger.com
