I have also read The Penelopiad and liked it a lot. I think my favorite Greek myth re-telling that I have read is The King Must Die by Mary Renault because it takes the myth of Theseus and shows how it might have happened in reality...no gods or godesses but maybe how it really went down and then through re-telling got changed in to legend.Ruthiellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03871834571645928819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-10689722608013924982018-06-26T13:52:25.180-05:002018-06-26T13:52:25.180-05:00Oh, I always loved the Atalanta story and the gold...Oh, I always loved the Atalanta story and the golden apples! All three sound like like good reads to me, but then I enjoy good retellings of the myths. :)Lark https://www.blogger.com/profile/13777891312147377769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-61950742773578333042018-06-26T13:21:08.147-05:002018-06-26T13:21:08.147-05:00I know that Rick Riodan's books are YA books, ...I know that Rick Riodan's books are YA books, but I was so pleased at how popular his Percy Jackson books were when I worked at the library. They were a great starting point for kids to learn about mythology and many of them came back and asked for more books about those stories.
