The covers do convey an eery atmosphere.jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-66169616713374545352015-01-22T16:23:09.172-06:002015-01-22T16:23:09.172-06:00These sound interesting, but I can understand that...These sound interesting, but I can understand that the subgenre isn't really your cup of tea. I only read the second one because I received them both from NetGalley. jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-63438552329540188542015-01-22T13:43:04.294-06:002015-01-22T13:43:04.294-06:00I think it is a matter of personal preference, but...I think it is a matter of personal preference, but although it appears that many loved the books, I wasn't that engaged with either of these. At the time, I was interested enough to finish the two I'd had sent to my Kindle, but not pleased enough to continue the series. The author didn't do it right enough for me. :)jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-80016441197171154582015-01-22T13:01:26.142-06:002015-01-22T13:01:26.142-06:00I never heard of Alexandria Sokoloff, but the firs...I never heard of Alexandria Sokoloff, but the first one by her looks interesting. Too bad the second didn't meet your expectations, though. I might give her a try if given the opportunity, thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22616974.post-40545472457771890112015-01-22T12:35:19.166-06:002015-01-22T12:35:19.166-06:00I was tempted to request these from NetGalley, but...I was tempted to request these from NetGalley, but decided against it. I have read some of the more positive reviews, but am glad to have yours for balance. I'm still on the fence. Thinly developed characters and issues with the writing are certainly distractors. I think you and I have discussed before the issue of believably. We can believe almost anything if the author does it right; and so when they don't, it stands out so much more.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.com
