Netflix Movies

I watched a couple of BBC series last week that I enjoyed:

Rosemary & Thyme is a delightful mystery series about two women whose circumstances changed in midlife and who join forces in a landscaping venture with a mystery-solving sideline.

Campion: The Case of the Late Pig is also great fun with wonderful characters and settings. Peter Davison plays Margery Allingham's Albert Campion. Jill sent me 3 of the Campion series (I reviewed them in June), and I'm now hooked on this series of quintessentially British mysteries.

I will be leaving in a few hours for another tournament in Houston. Hope to get some pictures this time--camera battery charged and ready to go.

  1. I hope the tournament goes well for you. The Rosemary & Thyme series is one that Amazon has been recommending to me on DVD. I haven't succumbed to the temptation as yet.

I have watched the Campion series on DVD and yes, they are fun!

  3. Jill- The tournament has gone well so far! I'm still in Houston and using my laptop to check in, just haven't had much time.

I loved Rosemary & Thyme and eagerly await more. Of course, I feel the same about the Campion series!

gentle reader - Thanks, I can always use more luck! So far so good, we will see how today goes.

I like the middle-aged, female buddy aspect in Rosemary & Thyme...and the gorgeous scenery. Check out the Campion series, too.

  4. I look forward to the tourney pics, have a great time!

Rosemary and Thyme is one that I want to get on Netflix myself. There are so many British series that I love and so many more that I haven't gotten to yet. I love me some Netflix!

  5. Carl -- I think you'll like this series. I'm scheduling a "re-run" of
Mulberry (which you recommended) for sometime this winter; I loved it and found it the perfect thing to look forward to on winter evenings. I'll be watching for your future recs as well!

  6. Mulberry is great, isn't it? R&T, if I remember correctly, was recommended to me when I wrote about Mulberry on my site. It is a really good fall/winter show and I look forward to watching them all again soon. I hate that they never got to finish the series.

By the way, have you seen any of the Marple episodes with that same actress? They are wonderful!

  7. Carl - I watched some of Miss Marple years ago, and I don't remember, but think I saw two different actresses in the role. Love Geraldine McEwan and ordered the Mapp & Lucia series, but they were not nearly as good as Mulberry. The Jeeves & Wooster series has Stephen Frye as Jeeves and Hugh Laurie as Wooster--the two were involved in the writing of that series, I think. Seeing "House" as Wooster was a shock!
