I just received an email from Sam Houston at Book Chase asking me to help spread the word about his silence. Blogger has somehow mistaken him for a spammer (the result of some software program) and has locked him out of his blog.
Sam has posted comments on many blogs -- he wants the book community to know about what has happened so people will realize that he has not simply disappeared. He is trying to get an interview with a real person, but doesn't know how long it will take to get it straightened out.
He has no access to his blog at present, and they have threatened to delete Book Chase in 20 days!
I hope Sam is able to get it sorted out. I really enjoy reading his blog.
ReplyDeleteI just received notice that my blog has been locked out as a spamming blog...can't believe I got back in to comment!
ReplyDeleteweird... thanks for letting us know!
ReplyDeleteI am locked out of mine at the moment for the same reason! Very annoying.
ReplyDeleteHow horrible. Now I'm afraid to attempt to post. Hope everything gets worked out soon for everyone experiencing this.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is happening to so many people! How incredibly annoying.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! I've been hearing about this happening all over the place. So many people being affected, hopefully it's just a system glitch they'll fix soon. And hopefully it doesn't happen to me!
ReplyDeleteI'm able to get back in again now so hopefully everyone elses is fixed now too.
ReplyDeleteJenclair (and others affected), I'm really sorry to hear that you all are having problems, too. The Blogger software that is making these decisions is apparently very poorly written and they are making a real mess of their reputation among bloggers with this fiasco.
ReplyDeleteI hear that Microsoft has been saying that 75% of the blogs run through Blogger are spam. Looks like the Google/Blogger folks have overreacted to the criticism and this is the result.
What a mess.
Having just had a terrible time with my own blog as a result of Apple's upgrade, I can really sympathise. is there anything the rest of us can do to help? Anyone we can get in touch with to verify your authenticity?
ReplyDeleteWhew! Things seem to be straightened out now!
