Snow Day in Lousiana

  1. Wow - it looks pretty and cold! We got lots of icy roads and snow. I'm totally surprised. Didn't expect that but I'm enjoying not having to go in to work :)

  2. Beautiful pics!

No snow but cold here in Mobile, AL. About 42 degrees out.

  3. Pretty. All we got in Houston was ice, and lots of it. The tollroads are all shut down for the day and all but the surface roads are too dangerous for most drivers to tackle. The kids are all disappointed, as usual, around here. Enjoy.

  4. Ilaina - It is pretty. The icy roads and overpasses are dangerous, but it is lovely when you don't have to get out!

1morechapter - Thanks! We've almost made it to freezing here, but I think we begin to warm up tomorrow.

Sam - The ice is the scary part, isn't it? It really is a good day to stay home.

  6. Wow, that is gorgeous! I love your fountain. You're giving me backyard fix-it ideas. Is that rosemary by the fountain? It's hard to tell.

We've just gotten rain, rain, rain but at least we're not icy. Wahoo for that. :) Enjoy your snow!

  7. Looks like you guys have it worse than we do. Most everything is melted now at almost 4:00. I'm just excited that the outside temperature is above freezing. It hasn't been for days.

Hope your husband makes it home OK. I had to look up the small town he was stuck in - East Texas, right?

  8. Holy cow! It almost looks like Chicago! Pretty pictures, though.

    Stay warm. - Kathy

  9. Sherri - The fountain has been fun to watch over these last few very cold days!

bookfool -- Yes, that's a small rosemary bush, and even it looks a bit tired of the cold! Hope you avoid the ice after all the rain, Nancy!

Kay - We are a little farther north than Austin, so we did get more. Temps here haven't gotten above freezing for several days, but tomorrow, we're hoping for a warm-up!

Right, Beckville is in East Texas; they got the ice and snow before we did and more.

Kathy - :) Nothing like Chicago! Thank Goodness! But a real event for us

  10. We have tons of snow, and now it's all covered in ice. It rained much of the day and will drop below freezing tonight, so tomorrow should be quite dramatic!

  11. Dorothy - Hope you are staying warm and safe and keeping off the icy roads. Know you are missing the biking!

  12. Now that's something that probably doesn't happen very often in your neck of the woods. How much did you end up getting? Will it be sticking around for awhile or has it already begun to melt?

  13. We got about that much snow overnight. Added to what we have, the banks on the sides of the driveway are taller than me. Not that it takes that much to be taller than me... lol

  14. Stefanie - All gone by Sunday!

Kailana - It must make life interesting to have snow banks taller than you!
