Wedding Over, Back to Reading

Our niece got married this weekend at Hemingbough in St. Francisville, and we had a full agenda of grandkids, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc.  It was a beautiful wedding, and Megan and Drew make a beautiful couple.

 Some pizza Friday evening.

Father and Daughter Dance.
There were acres of azaleas at the height of their beauty--a magical setting.

We were exhausted when we got home yesterday afternoon. I have lots of laundry, etc., to do, then I will be reviewing and reading.

  1. You look so beautiful and happy! And what great dresses for the little girls! I presume the man is your fellow! And those azaleas!! You and I live on different planets, Jenclair. ;<)

  2. Kailana - Thanks! We had a great time with all our relatives.

Nan - It was a lovely weekend with the grandkids and a beautiful wedding. Yep, that's my man of nearly 40 years! Aren't the azaleas a marvel? Such a grand display of Mother Nature's richness.

  4. Jenclair, these are the most lovely pictures. Truly. Precious children, beautiful bride, and so sweet with you guys and grands. The azaleas pale by comparison! (We've got them here too. Always beautiful in spring - wildflowers, red buds, azaleas, and nasty pollen!)

  6. Yvann - Megan was a beautiful bride. It was all so much fun!

Kay - :) Oh, yeah, the pollen! Pine pollen everywhere, but the azaleas were breath-taking!

Sherri - Megan's dress was so pretty and soft. I didn't get pictures of all the beautiful children, but there were so many!

  7. Wonderful photos! You look awesome. I can't believe it's already azalea time. Everything seems to be blooming, already. I think I may have actually missed photographing the wisteria at its best. It seems way too early.

  8. Nancy -- It is early. This is another example of climate change, I guess. It was 88 degrees the other day, and it is still March.

I noticed the wisteria was much prettier north of Alexandria. The further south we got, the less vibrant.

  9. I think you're right. We got to the mid-to-upper 80s, too. Fortunately, the rain cooled things off. I'm not quite ready for summer weather.

Interesting about the wisteria being prettier, farther north. I think the wind and rain stripped ours, locally. It didn't last long.

  12. Bookfool - It's been downright cold since we got back up here, but like you, I'm not ready for the summer. I want a Spring first!

Stefanie - Hemingbough is such a beautiful place. The peacocks were in fine form with their brilliant displays and noisy calls!

Iliana - It was great, but I'm sure my brother and SIL are glad it is all over!

  14. Violette - The wedding was a lovely affair--both of the flower girls were beautiful, even if one IS my granddaughter. And the handsome little ring-bearer is my grandson. :)
