Fantasy: The Theft of Sunlight by Intisar Khanani and Warrior's Ransom by Jeff Wheeler

 The Theft of Sunlight is due out on March 23.  I reviewed it early here, intending to post a reminder in March.  So this is the reminder.  :)

Intisar Khanani never disappoints me.






Jeff Wheeler is another of my favorites in the fantasy genre.  I adored the Kingfountain and the Harbinger series by Wheeler.  Warrior's Ransom is "The First Argentines #2."

Somehow, I missed the first book in this new series.  I'll probably go back and pick it up at some point.

I enjoyed it, but not nearly so much as the earlier Kingfountain and Harbinger books.  That said, missing the first book in "The First Argentines #1" series may have had something to do with it.

All three series are related to the Kingfountain books (my favorite) which are great fantasy fun and adventure.

    I do want to read The Theft of Sunlight. It's just fitting it in with all the other books I want to read that gets tricky. ;D

      Intasar Khanani writes wonderful reimagined folk and fairy tales and original fantasy, and I've enjoyed all that I've read!

    I just read Brambles, the prequel to Thorn, and loved it. I'm eager to get to the full-length books set in this world. :)

      Oh, and try Sunbolt and Memories of Ash! Khanani is the one who first recommended W.R. Gingell to me (Masque and Wolfskin). Then last year, you mentioned the "Between books" by Gingell--which were completely different from her fairy tales, but were SO much fun! Now, I'm reminded to check and see if there are any new entries in that series.) :)

    Count me in as another who'd like to read The Theft of Sunlight. That series sounds really different and good!

      Khanani knows how to create characters and reinvent fairy tales! My favorite is Thorn, maybe because it was the first I'd read by Khanani and The Goose Girl is one of the strangest of fairy tales.
