Fishman, Zoe. Balancing Acts.
I actually read this in March, but the book tour schedule is for April 5. The story covers a 6 week span in the lives of 4 friends who attended college together and unexpectedly reunite at a college get together.
Charlie has recently opened a yoga studio and recruits the other three for a 6 week beginner class on Saturdays. Each of the young women undergoes substantial changes as a result of their renewed friendships.

I think friendships are very important and can help us grow and learn and become better people. Glad you enjoyed the book!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good premise. Did you like it?
ReplyDeleteTrish - Friendships are important; we all need support at times.
ReplyDeleteLisa - I liked the premise, but found the novel a bit simplistic, almost formulaic. However, I think most of the readers on the tour enjoyed it.
I figured this one might be a bit fluffy but I like the premise! I still can't do yoga as I'm recovering still from my health issues but hopefully will get the ok to get back to it soon! I miss it.
ReplyDeleteHow's your yoga practice coming along?

ReplyDeleteNot really my kind of read, but I do agree with the importance of friendship
ReplyDeleteSometimes books like this really work for me but other times, not so much. I think a lot depends on my mood.
ReplyDeleteI am very eager to read this book .. hopefully I can get my hands on it some time.
ReplyDeleteiliana - It is a bit fluffy, but I liked the premise as well. The yoga sections, however, were quite different from my experiences.
ReplyDeleteMy practice is going well (although I've been a little slack this last week). Hope you will be back to classes soon, Iliana!
Kailana - No, this one is probably not your kind of read. Not really mine either. :0
LF - I know, mood has a lot to do with certain books!
Aths - Hope you enjoy it when you do get your hands on it! Not my favorite genre, but I was interested in the yoga aspect.
I wondered how you'd like the yoga aspect of the book.
ReplyDeleteI read this book too and it's pretty good. It's ironic that it took Charlie to bring the women together for each of their life-changing moments.
