Here is what I made last night: My own almost perfect reading pillow. At home, I have a special pillow that I keep in my lap as I read, but I wanted more. Last night, made a new cover and stuck the old pillow inside!
The green roll in the above pocket is margin tape, for those annotations in library books. The Page Points are wonderful ways to find excerpts, quotes, etc. that you like and might want to find later. Both are from Levenger's.
Discovered the Page Points a couple of years ago when Iliana posted about good gifts for readers. I gifted myself!
There are a few things I'd do differently, but nevertheless, I love my new reading pillow! It will hold my pages open when I eat and will keep necessary items near by.
Now, I must get ready, pack a few things, and head down to the country. Which books shall accompany me?

ReplyDeleteWell, how talented are you?! That pillow is awesome. I have something called a Gimble that I got at Barnes & Noble or Borders, that holds the book open for me when I need my hands. But it's made of plastic and not nearly as nice as your pillow!

What a wonderfully clever idea. I may have to break out my sewing machine. I disparately need a sewing room. I always read with a pillow on my lap and the book setting on top, so a reading pillow would be perfect. I think you could sell these, Jenclair.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pillow and so efficient. My sister gave me some page points years ago for Christmas. They arrived through the mail with some other things from Levenger's. No explanation. Now, years later, I know what to do with them. I feel like a goof. LOL

Your reading pillow is really pretty. I love the fabric choice and it looks comfy if it is on your lap. You should consider making and selling these! I would love to buy one. I have found the page points in library books and used books. Now, I know what they are. I've never used margin tape...that sounds interesting!
