A New Stack

Here are my books for the upcoming Fantasy Challenge. Carl is going to post details this week, I think.

Some are young adult novels. All should of these should be fairly quick to read. One other one that I have is Inkheart, but it didn't make it onto the stack. A total of 8 possibilities!

Does anyone else know what they are reading?

I'm almost through with Mockingbird, and I'm relieved to say that after the first chapter, things get more interesting. After the 2nd chapter, I found myself on better terms with the work.

  1. I ought to shoot myself for even looking at another challenge, but this looks like a fun one. I really enjoyed "Inkheart" and recently bought "The Book Without Words." It will be fun to read your reviews.

  2. I am looking forward to this challenge as I read so very few fantasy novels. I haven't a clue what I am going to read--maybe a Gaiman novel. I will be watching everyone else's selections closely looking for appealing books!

  3. I was so looking forward to the challenge, but realised I'll be in Turkey. *sigh*

Look forward to your posts on the readings.

  5. Framed - I love fantasy and, although I'm often critical of some of the books in the genre, so far this year, my fantasy reads have been great! I have high hopes for the ones in the TBR stack and look forward to new suggestions.

Danielle - I'm looking forward to Gaiman's Coraline. I'm going to be watching for other people's selections, too.

Orpheus - This challenge is right up your alley, but you will be involved in a fantasy of your own!

joemmamma - I'm glad I didn't put Mockingbird aside after my disappointment with chapter one; it really improved.

  6. I've been kind of steering clear from challenges but I am pretty sure I'll be joining Carl's. I don't read Fantasy so I think this would be a great way to explore a new genre.

  7. iliana - I've skipped a lot of recent challenges, but have been looking forward to the fantasy/fairy tale one. Then I discovered that I could combine two--even better!

  8. A great list! I'm anxiously awaiting the details for the Fantasy Challenge, and then I can decide if it's something I can manage along with all my other challenge committments. I'm in over my head, I know. Still, it's fun! :-)

  11. Carl - my fingers were getting itchy, so I started reading Flannery O'Connor's letters to keep from starting the fantasy challenge early. Eager to hear the details!

  12. Jenclair, I think it's great that you've already decided I'm participating in the Fantasy Challenge. Haha I guess I'm that transparent, aren't I?
