November Reading

More books added to the stacks. I've slowed down a bit in my reading and am trying to catch up on sewing, etc., but with the weather getting cooler, curling up with good books sounds just right.
I've already begun The Reluctant Widow -- a little Regency romance mixed with spies and murder. Georgette Heyer in top form!

  3. Bybee - I'm glad they are re-printing her books. They are really fun reads.

averyclaire - As you say, another sojourner! Especially as we are beginning such a wonderful new decade... Who'd a thunk it!

  4. I've been on the verge of reading "Eat, Pray, Love" a couple of times...but in the end I was always afraid it would be a little superficial...
Anyway, I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

  5. I just looked at that Heyer book yesterday as a possible Christmas gift for my wife. I'll be interested to read your thoughts after you are done.

This really is the perfect time of year to curl up with a good book, isn't it?

  7. I agree. It's the perfect weather here in Oregon to curl up under an afghan with a good book. I'm trying not to add to my stacks, but whittle down what I already have. Hard to do when there's so many good books out there begging to be brought home!

  8. bookworm- I got Eat, Pray, Love from Erin while I was in Baton Rouge, and that is pretty much what she thought of it - superficial, pretentious. I may try it anyway.

Carl - Heyer's books are great fun. Light reading, entertaining, old-fashioned, humorous.

There is something about cooler weather that makes the reading experience even more satisfying.

naida - I'm looking forward to the rest of Heyer's books. I've finished The Reluctant Reader now and need to review it.

Paula - Whittling down is a great idea, but refraining from adding to the stacks is difficult! :)
